The stimuli were forced to change because of the COVID-19 pandemic. We examined the validity of the new stimuli. In addition, we investigated the effect of procedures that change labels. 20 six-year-old children participated in the preliminary study. Children were shown various stimuli and asked to categorize them and make labels for the divided categories. We modified the shapes and textures of the stimuli based on the results. Another group of 18 six-year-old children participated in the next study. The children were asked to categorize and make labels as done in the preliminary study. Following the categorization and labeling procedure, the children were asked to decide whether the stimuli(animal-like-objects) change labels and categories as they grow up. If the children determined that a stimulus changes labels and categories as they grow up, then they were asked to indicate the new labels and categorizations. The results showed that new stimuli elicited responses from children similar to previous stimuli. Furthermore, children were able to change the label of the stimulus according to the instruction. Five of the 18 children made labels for each stimulus, despite instructing them to label the category.
