| 内容記述 | In today's world, we face lots of difficult and dangerous problems which prevent us from leading safe and healthy lives. Those problems may include warfare, ethnic tensions, poverty, discrimination, social exclusion, gender inequality, destruction of nature and disaster to name just a few. Despite those challenges ahead, within the near future we should devote ourselves to establish the sustainable society as well as the peaceful world. To that end, we need to look at our feet on the ground, namely, our communities. As the world around us is actually based on each local community, we should think that if communities are empowered, so as our world will be empowered. As it is indispensable for the people to manage their own communities to grow up, we believe community education and lifelong learning should play their central role. Therefore, we examined various kinds of practices within the area of community education and lifelong learning, and closely looked at their characteristics from the viewpoints of"glocalism"and endogenous development.Our close examination reveals that they are created on such ideas as the right to education, freedom of education, and autonomy of education. We concluded this paper with the new proposal that community development will be achieved only through the growth of people in the community, namely, their independent growth as the subject of community. | |||||||||
